Midnight passes and the earth turns on it's axis. My tears drench my pillow until I have no more of them to cry. I lie awake and look at the shadows pass across my room as the dim moon light begins to fade. Sorrow fills my heart as I lie on an empty bed, that I once shared with you. I love you without reason and long for you with conviction. My heart is broken into a thousand pieces. I have no peace since you departed and I hate the long empty nights alone. I will pull myself together and find what sleep I can, even if it comes from a bottle and a glass. When day first breaks and I must arise and start anew, I will go on empty without your love. So as sleep takes me from sheer exhaustion, I will dream and hope that on the other side of morning I will find strength to make it another day.
