Nov 2015
I remember summers of youth gone by long ago
When time seemed with no end
Pretty girls had such beautiful smiles and welcoming arms
If you were free and the only one meant to be
Butterflies danced on the evening sundown sky
But soon the winter of old age blew youth slowly away
And that my friend is the real and only truth
What ever happened to the many dreams that we had growing inside
Did they blow away like the colored leaves of last fall?
When September rain was coming down?
We kept looking around life's corner hoping to run into younger days
And make them come back
But it seems now that to go living our final days here is all
And everything a man or woman can do
Will we be able to see tomorrow or is today all that we've got
Nobody told us about sorrow waiting ahead
We have to carry  on with broken hearts instead
