Every empty "I love you"
that shot from her mouth
Every blast from her tongue
was like a bullet that
could puncture any flesh
tear open any wound
Though, there was never enough meaning
behind it to give it the power to ****
so, it ricocheted
off of my sturdy cheekbones
and rolled
down my hallow chest

Those three overused words
crumbled into dust
and the cloud of false infatuation
dissipated at my feet
