I was six years old when you left me alone
“You’re the man of the house, the king of the home”
“You’re responsible now for your mother and brother”
“I will break your heart so that you may never love another”
“Goodbye son, farewell to you all”
“For I am a coward who runs from it all”
I knew you once as an honorable man
Now I can’t stand to look at you
I no longer call you dad
