She whispered in
My ear

Words I only

Dreamt

I'd live to hear

Sweet like babies
Candy cane lollipop
Laced with loads of sugar

And Santa's

Sweet surprise

Now I know
Nothing in this world
Is free except for me an'
My baby

Wind don't let no free loader stay

And the sea guards his keep safe

Milk from the cows has soured

And the bee ain't buzzing for just you and me

All I know that's free for me
Is what I got with me and
My sweet little baby

All I got for free is me
And my
Petite little baby

Cause when I think back on
Praying and decaying

Rambling around' late without a date in
A night that never wished to know my name

Down in a bar room gambling with
Bare knuckled boredom but then

She came at me like a left hook
And tossed my heart in the brook

And all I know today
Yes all I can bear to say

Is that what I got for free
Is nothing next to a bargain plea

What I got was
Me and my one and only
Baby

An' if my heart is just a
Little too weak and sentimental

Think back on the hours
You spent shouting proud an' loud
With a mind full of power
But a heart cast in showers

Inside a spirit
Wrinkled like the rain
Does gently sprinkle

Palms were hot as the dot
You followed was not the
Spot you truly wished for

And the smiles you forced led
You to a bear a dream you never
Dreamt of ever before

Hold on to your dream as the
Steam will wane and you hear that
Whistling train roar off
Again' and again'

Don't forget that what you
Got comes for free and

Don't ever stop looking
For your apple tree

For that one and
Only is very quite holy

Don't ever stop seeking
No don't ever stop peeking

For your one n' only

Sweet Baby
