From a distance my eyes follow

Your snowy, white beauty

As you float carelessly along

The river in solace and peace

My ears detect marvelous rhythms

Within the feathers of your wings

Gently flowing to the beat

Of the wind’s soulful melody

Boldly you break away

From the shackles of captivity

In the eye of the sunset

You raise your head with power

You escape the night in

A swift adventure of rebellion

Whilst singing in elevated chirps

To the taste of newfound freedom

The sweet smell of nature

Strokes your beak

The stars glow in celebration

Because you surpassed

The greatest obstacle
