You exhaust me with every step I make,
You confound me with my every breath you take.
Yet I feel so at ease knowing what's at the top,
that undeniably, I cannot allow myself to stop.

Every step draws me closer to you,
Every second in this staircase proves my love is true.
But will you let me in and speak,
and tell you you're all I ask and seek?

You slammed the door in my face,
and told me to leave the place.
Little did I know it wasn't worth the climb,
but worth the fall and the end of time.
