Oct 2011
Old friends greet each other
and after weeks of control
my defenses crumble
the cancer is handed to me and
INHALE
...
EXHALE
As we talk of the past
my mind begins to drift
the lanes start to shift
and I appreciate the gift
OF CHANGE

But there is one among us
who is not accustomed
to our
AIR
To her the taste is off
the consistency, all wrong
and she is unable to
COPE
I mention a symptom
and she has it
someone speaks of sickness
she is the sickest
she begins to shiver
and shake
eyes roll back
and I have seen death
.....
....
...
..
.
BUT SHE BREATHS
and so do I...
