Stars drowned out by city lights
flicking cigarettes while the birds sing
smoke dances, halos

later never comes
sooner stays within reach
lovers’ embraces
touches lost in blowing winds

twinkling displaced by loud laughs
long breath, miles away
missing you like tomorrow never comes

moon sets, sun rises
just like the day before.
misplaced voice in a loud crowd
too far away from arms close by
