Oh, how I know
the contents of your heart
how your heart contained
only light and love
till the day you gazed
upon your form and face so fair
and darkness crept into your soul
and the words of your heart
oh, how they were
" Oh, how others are so dull and worthless
and how I alone shine!"
and oh, how like Lucifer in his fall
how you said, "Oh, I shall reach
the heights of forever
and write my name among the stars!"
Little do you know
the one who made all
shall cast the children of a proud heart
from their great height
and in the dark places you shall dwell
for the one who made all
loves a humble heart
and makes the proud
to stumble and fall.
