Let Life Linger

Can you tell me, what's the rush? Life's made of moments, we barely touch I see your face as a passing blur, A ghostly image of what you were So much time is wasted on Thoughts and actions, that come out wrong We all lay claim to pure intentions Except the times we never mention We slowly surrender to rising doubts Choosing to take the easy way out and What we stand for, is compromised A moment’s weakness can haunt your life The conclusion, is all that is certain There’s no way to predict That final curtain Just because you’re living, Doesn't mean you’re alive Cause a dreamless heartbeat, Keeps no time It can’t know the depths, Where passion resides It won’t feel hope heal, The pain that won’t subside Just because you’re living, Doesn't mean you’re alive So why are we afraid to roll the dice? Let’s chase our dreams, Regardless of price and Aim for the stars, So we light up the night Cause a dreamless heartbeat, Keeps no time It can’t know the depths, Where passion resides It won’t feel hope heal, The pain that won’t subside Just because you’re living, Doesn't mean you’re alive
