First Love
F J McCarthy on Jan 4, 2009

If there were a flower?
Your beauty to compare.
It would be a rose.
So lovely and so fair.
Yet a rose is just a flower.
My love, it can’t receive.
It can only wilt and die.
As though a fallen leaf.
Be my rose, my fallen leaf.
But never wilt or die.
And to you I’ll give my love.
Til in my grave I lie.
