If I ever say I don't love you
please know it is a lie
without you in my life
I'm sure that I would die.
You're the mother of my only son
blessed me with the gift of child
I apologize for all the times
when I was acting kind of wild.
For all the times I never said
what was heavy on my mind
nights I came home late, way too drunk
to start a fight and make you cry.

But I stand before you, here today
to say I'm just a man
and from this moment forward
I'll do everything I can
to treat you like the princess
you always knew you were
to write you sappy love poems
and say they are the cure
for all the tears I made you cry
and couldn't kiss away
here's my first attempt at sorry
with a simple yet poetic display
