We can travel to the badlands
Sleep on the barren earth
Hold hands
Watch the sunset fall over this place of nothing
Deep grey boulders and oversized hearts beating
This flat, cracked floor
This place of earth unfed
Badlands give life to nothing
The sun like a lamp focused on our skin
Slowly begin to look like this cracked floor
We feel so unfed
These badlands give life to nothing
Still, they take life from everything
