Stillness overcomes heat

Wise words from the
Tao Te Ching

I may park my car
Underneath the shade
Of the tree
At the library

Before I go walking
With my hiking sticks

I will see
Americans
Coming and going

Their money
Is so secure!

(Or so they think)

America's economy
Teeters on the brink

I saw an ancient man
Of Tao
He is in his mid eighties
I believe

And walks up
And down my street

Slow and steady
Listing to one side
A bit

He has a bit of an
Akward shoulder
Like me

I took a picture of him
At the corner
Of my street

I looked up
And he had disappeared

Turned the corner
I believe

One day he asked me
How the lady in the garden
Was doing

He is a kind man
Sometimes
I would like to talk
To him more

But I don't want to
Disturb him

I talked to him that
One time

Two times now
I have spoken to him

He took his hat off
And put it back on
Twice I believe
As he walked down
My street

He is an ancient man
Of Tao
