beneath the
dandelions;
the world seemed lazy

so delicately sweet
carnivorous  roses, the reason for
aphrodisiac desires

please, dear,
awake beneath willow
and wide and rest your curling head
upon the lap of the
lilacs-
unbeknownst
the queen of
backyard kingdoms.
