The cat comes round from next door
When his humans have all gone out -
The kids with their mum’s high-pitched voices
Daddy "Drill" with his DIY shout

And the cat comes and sits, sits in silence
And he rolls on his back on the floor
And he asks you to tickle his tummy
Then he asks you to stop with his claw -

Yes, it’s nice of a day to have company
Of the kind that don’t too much distract
Yes it’s better than telly, oh isn’t it very -
Nice to have neighbours with cats!
