A surprise gift, choppy waters for an unintended dip
and wanting to buy a towel but forgoing all to the ******
deserted and clear
detour opens the mountain, the wind howls later.

We carry the burden uphill in a sweatshirt
long abandoned
a dinosaur shell, of pale blue
for a happy child blowing harmonica gratitude
on a black gate.
