Jul 2015
the ticking of a clock
   becomes unbearable
trying to direct my focus
to something else in the room
a fly buzzing at the window
makes me itchy
      which doesn't help
the    drip    drip    drip
of the faucet
soaks my brain
until i can hear nothing else
   neighbors laughing
          dogs barking
    a cars brakes screeching
the sounds of today
keep my sanity                    in
insanity
too much idleness
an overabundance of time
             alone
brings out the madness
   i am trying to conceal

but at the same time
i yearn for the world
                               to know.
