We went stargazing yesterday
The prairies of light shining our way
Watching the comets and the sky rise
But I always prefer watching you

The clouds buffeted and the birds whistled
Their pathways home lighted by the dusk
As shimmers of light sparkled in our eyes
Illuminating our souls together

Then the aurora spread its essence
Beacons of hope exploding in our hearts
Waves of trepidation gave way to awe
And the hammers of reality ceased

For a few moments in life I think
Tamed by nature and spoiled by love
Echoes of my memories resound in your head
As we watch the dyeing world coloured by rain.
