Lemon drop shots
That baseball cap
Front, backwards
Missing planes, drinking—
You love how strange
Me & my seaweed mane,
But we are the untamed.

City livin’ free
A flurry of cart wheels
And flowing movement
We twirl our water & fire
Ribbons, your kisses, baby
In different opposing directions.

“We’re opponents”
You so smartly state
I could listen to that
Raspy, Midwest sweet speak
Until my gloves & stockings
We’re completely
Removed.

Protect my heart—
I’ve been here before
But you’ve got faith
As you bend me over
Bar stools, dancing
In a local dive bar
We’ve got audiences
On the edge of their seats

Be so kind,
Repeat
Let’s leap—running
Through city streets
You’ve got a kind boy
Swagger
I could rewind
All my nickels and dimes,
My fair dancer
Opponent.

Who knew duels could be so sensual?
