Treading Water
Plunged into this thing called life
Most find it very hard to swim
The things that one was taught
has not done much for them
They seem to struggle
to keep their head above water
They can sometimes wade through
when the current is calm
But calm is something
They are not use to
For the few that care
They get a life preserver at times
They will continually hold on
To what they can find
Because for the most part
They can always find something to hold on to.
And that is their hope
that no one can take away
