Jun 2015
She holds her arms out,
Hoping to rejoice,
But she slowly lowers them.
Seeing as she has no choice.
She saw him from a ways,
But he failed to see her,
Now in his arms,
Is a stranger to mind,
But an enemy to heart.
The girl she doesn't even know from the start.
She stands there,
Confused and dazed,
She can't help but keep a mindful gaze.
Finally she stumbles,
But catches her feet,
She turns around slowly feeling her defeat.
Finally he sees her,
But he knows it's too late.
He lost her,
The girl he'sΒ Β been with for years,
For a girl who slept over on the first date.
Years later,
She met the man of her dreams,
He kept her close,
Never let her tears come down in streams.
Finally one day he went down on one knee,
He asked her sweetly "Will you be mine forever, please?"
The funny thing is,
The twist of fate,
For her first love lost the girl who slept over on the very first date,
To a man she met the very next day.
He moved on with his life,
Got a new job and met a new friend.
This friend he met,
Had a wedding one day.
There he stared in defeat,
As the girl he loved for years,
Stood there happy as could be,
marrying his best friend,
And all he could think was,
"That could have been me".
Wrote this, this morning. Never cheat, it will only come back to haunt you.
