Wake up with the time on my mind
Unwavering and never truly set free
My friends smile and tell me to try and be
But now I just want to lay and sleep

Though time stands still for no one
And it don't pause if you ask it so
I try and be as true as true as I can be
And know eventually I will learn to see

Listen to the meadows purr
Soft as the whiskers born at birth
Touch the way the wind howls west
Hear the horns of your father's growing corn

At last in time our hearts are apart
I never did thought I would get my start
Again I am set free with only feet unsheathed
With a road I am trying again to reach

Oh the sorrow now where my eyes are a blur
Lifted only by a glance or a pour
Stranded here forever and forever more
Never knew that life was in mine own core

Fingers, you were there and how you have last
I pray today this cursed gift won't ever go fast
My walk will wane n' my mind will soar
An my smile will grin as way back before
