The women of ancient Greece
sang songs and stories
as the worked their looms.
Tales of heroes, great deeds,
love, desire, war, conquest,
gods, mortals and demigods
and not one ended in happiness.
The women change;
The looms still weave;
stories are still sung;
the endings remain.
