When you were born, my mother asked me if i wanted to hold you, and I said no. Because I did not want to drop you and shatter your firework exuberance.
You were a sunshine ray, a solar flare, in my already colorful world.
Your skin was clear and warm.
and your cheeks were filled with a rosey red
And you had hair sprouting on your precious garden head.
From Day One, I have helped maintain that garden.
it's vines grew high, and it's roots spread far, affecting everyone they touched.
Every time you smile, it sheds a little light on that garden.
Making sure you grew so tall and so high like the sunflower you are, and whenever any one tried to chop you down, or stomp on your roots,
I'd kick their ***.
However, our relationship is not perfect.
I yell, you yell. I kick, you kick.
It’s you, and no one else, that I fight with more .
it's you and, no one else, that causes me to yell and fling curse words like shattered pieces of glass across my house.
It's you and no one else that blows wind into my storm causing a tornado of emotions amongst my home,
tearing it apart brick by brick.
but it’s our relationship, our love,
that adds liveliness in my small world.
It's you and no one else that Id rather have in your place.
From Day One, I have loved you.
