With the heart of fate left to chance, aimlessly I treaded

Into the pleasant atmosphere of my favorite coffeehouse

Unexpectedly I entered into a brief encounter

With a long, lost friendly face

What had appeared as a haunting silence

Swiftly evaporated into a stimulating conversation

Her attention shifted from her studies to

The beauty of the words that escaped my lips

Could this quite possibly be love at first peek?

My internal organs were on the brink of implosion

I could barely resist from cracking a smile

In the wise words and acts of common sense

I let Mother Nature take her course

The woman who had happened to be my friend was ever so beautiful

Her long, thick hair was of the utmost magnificent shade of auburn

It reeked of the most marvelous scent to ever reach my nostrils

Her smile sparkled like the twilight of the stars in sync with the moon

In the midst of our extensive discussion of poetry

She showed me her pen; stating that it was crafted

Purely from nothing but Purple Heart dragon wood

And just the mere sight of its rich purple color was fascinating

I had become blind to the difference

Between her charming beauty

And the captivating, hypnotizing ink

That ******* from her pen

Clueless, I had gotten caught up over

Whether or not I was in love with her or her words

What was it that originally attracted me

To this extraordinary creature?

The answer may never surface
