You talk about your happy place,
your rainbow dreams
and those weary eyed lies.
But oh my darling,
the sunlight hurts my eyes.
You take my hand
and kiss my bruises
you kiss my lips and sing.
But every touch of yours,
every little bit stings.
Oh, but you're still here
with your starry lullabies
trying to make me sleep.
Baby get away from me,
your voice just
makes me want to scream.
I'm sorry my darling.
Can't you see?
I'm not trying to say goodbye.
I'm trying to tell you
that you are as clear as the sky
and the sunlight hurts my eyes.
