illusion

one moment there they were

sparkling, shining

they tempted

 

uphill they lay

arduous, breathless

she climbed

 

the next moment: gone

clueless, traceless

they vanished

 

she stopped short

perplexed, vexed

she blinked

 

she let go

she fell

she crashed

 

back into reality

for everything she saw

was simply, illusory
