My heart's growing colder everyday.
I can feel it, when I look the other way,
Ignoring everyone who tries to catch my eye.
I can hear it, when you ask for help,
And I tell you in not so many words,
That it's not my problem.
I can see it, when you notice my vacant expression,
And you turn away, hoping I won't infect you
With this ever-present emptiness.
