Atop the grassy
mountainside I climb
looking for the end,
forgetting time.
Summit of the mountain
so near, so far
can I make it before
tonight's first star?

For It is I who
tried to set the bar
in an attempt to get
the golden perfection,
some sacred idol
to negate rejection
I'm looking for it,
in every-which direction

The mammoth trees I leave
everything is sunlight and weeds
and the memories I heave
and the memories I heave

Still not knowing
where this mountain leads
I'm on my way
and keeping speed

I am
but a kid who is trying
to follow his dreams

and the memories I heave

and the memories I leave.
