I cannot remember the places you inhaled my essence
out of the earth, and created a desert.

The feel of my surrender, undone, a pure chorus
in the song of forgiveness
that eludes you when you are awake.

You cannot remember the taste of my flesh.
Released, I remembered how to hate.
