Broken will leaves me,
shattered on the floor.
I know I'll get back up,
but I can't take much more.

Eyes are grey and they,
can't help but water.
My legs quiver as I,
wonder why I bother.

My time here isn't long,
it's here and then it's gone,
so why do I keep fighting on.

For my mother,
for my father.
For my brother,
and my grandmother.

For my friends,
and for my family.
For my kids,
which I've yet to see.

For my dog,
and for my neighbors.
For all these people,
they are my saviors.

They keep this heart,
from stopping short.
They show my life,
has some worth.
They are my heroes.
