The hound howls in hunger approaching me with care,
without a concern for myself I choose to feed this monster.
All I have to offer is my useless heart so I hand it over whole,
without a lapse of time the creature chews my toughest muscle.
Though the beast doesn't seem satisfied still it struggles not to waste,
with that I sense such a relief that my threatening heart can be of use.
