Chasing the Moon

This distance, this chasm this great divide, You are falling further away from me Like the ebb of the nightly tide. Lapping at my shores yet so quickly to retreat, Like sharing time with the enemy and never admitting defeat. As our passion increases this violent love we share, Falls apart like time That has no current affair. My love for you is as eternal as the sunshine- As sweet as nectered fruit that entice from bended vine. And like our love they will decay If not daily caressed and pruned, So I will lie in wait for your sun To chase away my moon.
