Make me out a monster
when I am merely a damsel in distress
refusing to digress
into the arms of just anyone.

I can't view others for more than playthings.
I'll stay for awhile if you ask nice.
I am not a girl. I am mice,
Something your mother fears.

I'll break through your door
before light does your window.
Many find that hard to swallow.
There is no permanence.
