In this life there is so much ritual
its rare to find somebody
that really does wish  you well
heading off the games right at the pass
spreading out the flames to the entire cast

Some people are used to
being away from themselves
and knowing how to see
anything but themselves
sometimes it seems hard to
stay inside of ourselves
and many times we pay
right outside ourselves

Signs from the distance
somehow enter the mind
meeting with resistance
some lose and some find

Being borne to a name
along with the creatures
scratched by the nails
of immature teachers
