Traipsing back and forth, day in day out rain or shine
Yesterday he was made to wear a silly hat saying
The dreaded word for a donkey “Be Mine”.

But the children love him that is why he carries on
To see a smile on their little faces is what counts
They cannot offer refund on tickets
Or do not expect any kind of discount.

What see is the ride you get
That is what to expect from them you see.
Been like that for years upon years
Before tourists even came to Torquay.

The donkeys love it though, they do not complain
When the spotlight is on it is a bonus
They love being tickled on their heads
To be honest they enjoy all the fuss.
