You could say I'm selfish,
I know you're not right for me,
and I know she loves you,
and I know you love her too,
but I still want you.

You could say I'm careless,
because I know the mess I'm getting into,
and I know my father won't necessarily like you,
and I know you could never like me the way I want you to,
but I still want you.

You could say I'm fatal to myself
because I know you're going to hurt me again,
and I know that there will be an end,
and I know that you can't ever love me,
but I still want you.

You're everything I am not,
maybe that's why I want you;
to live in a world separate from my own.

Maybe I want you,
or maybe I'm just selfish.
