Jan 2015
Parties and dances enliven the town
Musical shows and singing all around
Crackers and bells go sharp at midnight
To welcome the dawn of a new year bright

Streets echoing wishes nice,
Speeches made by people wise,
The kitchen smells of hot milk rice,
The air so full of joyous cries

Lists and lists of new year resolutions
Fresh attempts to shut the gates of pollution
Charts hung with diets for a quick loss of weight
Let's hope they stick firm through many new year plates

Bus- stops glowing in  radiant colour,
Smiles of eager students-by the moment,  growing fuller
The village chapel has a line-up to cleanse their hearts
New clothes,  new thoughts,  all in all,  a new start!
