as the last drop of you thins in my veins,
I find I’ve forgotten how to hold a pencil
don’t remember the syntax of a sentence
this page would be better used for kindling
can’t write a poem with a pen that’s been emptied of its passion

no more nights of tangled limbs and cool-air conversation
no more days of light laughter, shy smiles, and a flower
growing in my gut -  you made a garden out of me

dipped your paintbrush in my pigments
the portrait you painted I hung in front of my mirror
for you made me the man I’d always wanted to be

that portrait still hangs in its place
I’m too afraid to see what now lies behind

no longer star-light bright
my eyes reflect ghost ship lanterns
fading in a sea of memory

I sink, wishing time would turn back
or at least hurry forward -
just stop standing so still.

I sit, waiting until I’m struck again
but knowing hope is no course of action.

WARNER BAXTER
To be behind a slight disguise
behind those liquid lavender eyes

Long search hard to find
a special soul nothing unkind

A feeling strong a heart that's true
but wait, I think they're deep deep blue

I stare into a certain fate
I feel the pulse with quickened gate

Into those eyes I do fall
spirit image and magic call

I an certain this is no illusion
wonderful real no confusion

Lavender eyes forever together
sharing time with my beautiful feather

Lavender eyes no disguise
I gaze into those Lavender Eyes

When I think back of our time,
I think about our fights.
The only time I could see a glimpse of the real you,
real, pure and passionate.
Honest and sincere, you were my light.
It made me feel weird, yet I needed it sometimes.
Just to feel alright, to feel your fire raging.
Through me.
Though that passion hit me hard, it made me feel alive.
The energy from your thunder,
made my body go insane, heartbeat racing
and adrenalin pumping through my veins.
You in our fights were like a thunder in a stormy night.
And without your thunder, the night doesn't comfort me.
**Not anymore.

This could be about toasted bread or ? Lol

My love for you

is kept

within
a

leather case
For leather is only tanned skin and within my chest beats a heart full of love

There is better place,
Distant birds fly to and from,
Light behind mountain.
