Malefaction

Lie awake the dark to come
Running skies across the sun
Called to sleep as life to death
Sudden still each burning breath

I am cold, peace only to bear
Devilish heart my demons dare
Chase me under to depths below
Across a divide I dare not know

Another soul forsaken
Unto this cursed place
All for granted taken
Lost in time, disgraced
Nothing more to surrender
You gave away in your fall
Tortured world that you enter
You've reached the end of it all

Grey surrounds the weary world
No winds raise these flags unfurled
No sound to feel, sightless to see
Malefaction blur forever be

In this race of Time and Trial
Fate begrudging all the while
Sends us onward, near and far
Held on hope, Man's furthest star

Another soul forsaken
Unto this cursed place
All for granted taken
Lost in time and grace
Nothing more to surrender
You gave away in your fall
Tortured world that you enter
You've reached the end of it all

Soft pillow.

Warm blanket.

Midnight whisper.

Dreaming sound.

Pushed-back world, mind free.

Heaven welcomes you with a smile.

Kneel to the Wheel

Running away since
The day I was born
Rose up like a spark plug
My anger is my thorn

Never know until you go
How life will divide you
Kneel off onto the wheel
Of Nature as she drives you

Blood across these eyes
Burning out the highway
Endless as my thoughts I've been
Driving 12 straight days

Where does it take me?
Where does it break me?
Love crucify or save me?
Where does it take me
Oh kneel now
Kneel to the wheel

Came across a broken home
Since the day I was born
Wanted to be someone
No one since the day I was born
No, no one since I was born

Where does it take me?
Where does it break me?
Love crucify or save me?
Where does it take me
Oh kneel now
Kneel to the wheel

Running he chases me
In A look disgraces me
Empty bottles save me?
Smashed the car into a tree
And followed him to be free
In a voice I know it's he
His words they wet my sleeves
Again, again
Above put my faith in
In a moment he is gone
Lost in faithless everyone
And I kneel to the wheel
And stumble home again.

Hinged

It's a feeling of bulkiness
Gathering up the strength
But also the coordination
In front of the mirror
A certain Goliath effort for
Planning, detailing, getting affairs
In order, all in orderless care

Carbon planes rattle the
Hotel air conditioners on the 2nd
Floor below the outside balcony
Smoky white dancing lines trace
And replace a clear day view
Like so long ago when all the world
Was just a moment, just a day,
Just a boy and his thoughts

I made all the right calls to
Make sure it all goes smoothly
The plan in place and ready set
I slip off the Adidas shoelaces
And place them to the right hand
Side of the bed with the night stand with the magazine the hotel
Put out,
The Kardashians' latest baby story
About giving birth in designer high heels
The eyes all white and faded in
Too much light

The cord in place, I move the
Desk chair closer to the center of
The room, the wheels squeaking
Like the raising and lowering of the crab traps from the shore house, Long Beach days shine on
Forever ago

My feet wobble as I climb onto
The chair, that few-second elevated vertigo
Feeling obscured further as I slip
Off my glasses one last time,
Blind and blurred to all the world I cannot see

Tears heap to vapor and disperse with a weary glaze down
My cheeks as
Life seeps away into mortal corners, boiling goosebumps on my arms
Drowning nevermore,
I feel the thresh of the cord
As this world turns to the next
And a soul quietly exhales

Cardinal Chains

Fallen beneath the cross
Shed this crown of thorns
Stumbling through the madness
Blacker than Adam's scorn

Fires on the earth
Echo savior bells
Hoping to the sky
A dream in which to dwell

Souls cry in the chaos
Judgment drawing near
No solace no escape
No hiding deepest fears

We scream across the River
Floating lifeless on a prayer
Sunken dream of salvation
Bathe the burning sins we bear

So it's fate, without free will
The choices already made
Gamble on your good deeds
Your cards already played

Cardinal chains upon me
Punished as all the ******
Suffering life unto death
Followed footsteps of the lamb

Roses red

Flowers fade

Words you said

Promises made

All these lines

Not a thing to you

Violet times

Never seen so blue.

Life is full of
Life,
Rich sun glowing within
Universal lungs
Breathing, eternity
Into my mind like this ripe air
Cold, pure, growing
Warmth of my being

Mysteries of the flesh
Always,
All ways complete
