The Open Shore

You are the open shore
Of my heart
Everyday I walk you,
Barefeet stride the pulsating sand
Golden, I warm in your brilliance
Overhead, your illumination
looking down on me

Gentle winds on my smile
My Eyes See You across the waves
Rising, falling, changing,
Bluewhite depths a devotion
Sweeping away all the times I worry
How deep sometimes I wish
To melt into moments like these
Clarity, sparkling rarity

There is no beginning, no end
To our love
Only and always this moment,
Ours,
The years, the lives we will
Tide and recede together

Leap of Faith

The world looks so wonderful out there, to me
Callow, feeling naked
****** skin ready for the challenge
Of trembling feet towards the edge

Fear bubbles the thick air
Sharp and honest as a Mother's Love
The view beyond is so far,
So closely I examine what I don't know
Only to nerve and wonder

The edge awaiting like hungry eyes,
The Moment so clear you can see through it all
What brought me here?
How deeply will I fall?

In all, I jump.
Dive the dividing doubt.
Leap of faith.

"I do."

Bus Station

In the rainy white morning of
Sobered frustration
I placed my heart in the hands
Of an ex

Saying "I Love You" to
Hear No-Reply too
Deeper and clearer becomes
All the stress

As a walk becomes farther
The past beckons closer
To rinse and repeat
Ghosts of yesterday

Each step forward
Opens memories toward
The light long longed for
In so many ways

No direction I wander
So selfish I wonder
How real was the magic
Or all just for show?

The moments, the rarity
So closely to clarity
Feel you're in love but you
Never know

As the bus station sighs
Silence in their eyes
The truth drives away in all its
Shifting gears

After all said and done
When you loved someone
Be present, be now
Untrapped in the years
