The Proverbial Elephant In The Room

In our prime, we have all felt

The pride of being invulnerable

I am intelligent enough to know

I am not invincible.

How do I stand on the edge of the

precipice and reach beyond the brink?

How do I achieve success, I must Think

Never say die, facing unsubdued issues impossible, insurmountable challenges.

A tribute to courage and an unconquerable will

To boldly go, where many have fallen before

To have their efforts vanquished at every turn

How do I learn?

The Proverbial Elephant in the corner

Has moved into the center of the room

Suffocating air in doom and gloom

Blocking me at every turn

How do I learn?

Facing that which is

invincible, unbeatable, unvanquishable

All victorious never have lost.

However At what Cost?

Perhaps if I were a Superhero ,

Attacking directly the face of adversity

The Ginormous Elephant next to me.

How do I course correct to clearly see.

Or do I give up , worse yet , don’t try, let it be

How do I eat the Elephant?

My father a very wise man

Taught me Be the engine that could, I Can

Wait your turn listen, learn acts of discernment

Don’t become overwhelmed

In scope depths and size

Keep your eyes on the prize

Wait calculate check every angle

Until you see clearly the angle of the dangle

Put one foot in front of the other

Take it slow and steady

Pace yourself It’s not a race

You’ll know when you’re ready

Take the path

Do the math

Simplicity the way to go

Don’t make a move until

Your sure you know

So how pray tell,

Do you eat an Elephant ?

Concise simple logic Sublime

One Bit at a Time

Hindsight is 2020

Breaking it down, smaller pieces, easier to handle

Bite off only what you can chew

If I only knew that meant more than Food

Inspiration is more than just a mood

Growing up, my father made up this game called five cent words. Each one of his eight children was given a jar with a lid and a dictionary.pick any word. The word had to be at least a three syllable. The younger kids started with two syllables.

Each child would present and use the word

all day long correctly!. If it passes muster

you get five cents. The full jar of nickels Priceless

Although my father is gone. RIP The game continue to our children and grandchildren
