Falling through Gray

Down I go

into gray and brown.

I hit the sides

like a cradle rocked too fast.

Abrupt catastrophe.

I didn’t see this one coming,

but I felt it—

a slight rumble of an earthquake,

or the false dawn

before real light yawns

and opens the sickly day.

Just another ending.

Dappled. Down.

Just posted a new long-form poetry reading on my YouTube channel featuring selections from Aluminum Cowboys, one piece from Sleep Always Calls, and a sneak peek from my upcoming book Searching for Nod, coming this November.

A simple at-home reading—just the work and the page.
