What Happens When You Die

by heaven-leigh

If death is an adventure Life is the preparation. We prepare to die, but we try to prevent it To prevent the end is nearly impossible But just one more candle that has to be lit To die is to live And to live is to die. Gray hair and crinkled skin Showing that the end is near So we turn up the music and drink beer We drink until we forget the preparation We drink to forget the end Mid-life crisis creeping up the older you get You can't leave at the last bit. Death is something we don't understand Though we try so hard to. You see, the thing is Only the dead know what happens when you're dead And that seems to bother us the most We don't know if we fade to dust Or if we go somewhere great At the end we are all headstones with a name That has been long forgotten Tears shed that are now rotten But the biggest problem is: Only dead people know what happens when you die And that is the hardest part of a good-bye
