I can't pretend mom

I'm ripped apart,

I'm too broken

please don't tear me down

more than I can handle.

Please don't look at me

with the hate in your eyes, mom.

I'm scared, mom,

please don't break me

so I can't pick myself up.

I'm like a deer on the road

and you don't mean to hurt me.

You love your daughter

but you can't like me.

I'm sorry I'm a let down.

I'm sorry I couldn't fix you.

It doesn't help nothing does

so leave me to pick up my pieces.

I will make you proud,

I promise I won't let you down.

Please don't talk down to me,

we could have figured things out,

it's too late now.

I would love to tell you,

but every time I sit there

and pretend things never happened,

it breaks me.

I'm sorry I'm a let down

I will do everything to make you proud

I'm not happy but atleast you are and that's the world to me
