It comes in waves as I try and push it
back to back I stand with it
Churning within igniting the dark
clouds that roll in and soil the plot

The fight in her eyes
light up the sorrow behind my
back to back I stand with it
kept in down under the bottle

Pinned on my back to back i stand with it
Stuck is my head in the rain
clouds my better wit
timed out in a mere instant

Wait for what never comes
around the phone calls screened
haven't quite learned to fall on
my back to back i stand with it

But it will pass it always
passes under the bridge
like water breaks over the
bon fires burned out resilience

Meet this girl, a disposition so great
A **** little body, a pretty little face
& for all she's worth in the day in my life
I'd love to weigh in but she ain't worth the fight
So now it passes on in the days of yore
Unknowingly saved my heart from the sore
It's really too bad, for the fondness we cared
Could last for the lifetime we could have shared
Kept on missing, as the wheel it turns
Solace found in watching time burn
Patience persists to the far side of time
If the season was right, she would have been mine.

Heading down by where the water flows
It's good to be back walking on the shore
A dip in the lake just to cool our bodies down
At home in the sea, down under the waves
Follow the map to a pearl you'll save
I'm taking you down to a place that nobody knows

Sitting down by where the water flows
Just kicking back enjoying the show
I could only imagine a life like this
A line in the pond and a beer in my hand
Waiting to drag that fish on land
Another great day down by where the water flows

Shading the sun from a star lit sky
The fire lights up the wilderness eye
We sing through the night and enjoy the scene
Just to wake up and start it all again

We'll bring it all in when the sun goes down
We don't need no bar, no streets, no town
All we need out here is friends like these
It's so hard to leave, I don't want to go
Let's grab the guitars and put on a show
Guess we'll just stay here for the rest of the week

The whiskey is warm and the water is clean
The fire is hot and the forest is green
I could only imagine a life like this
We've been here for days, it's time to go home
Got to feed my dog, got to change my cloths
But it won't be long til we come back again

Headed back down where the water flows
Just kicking back enjoying the show
I could only imagine a life like this

Higher and higher I'm floating up in the sky towards you
Why can't I keep my feet on the ground?
Tossing & turning the fuel that's fueling my desire
I wish I had fallen back down to the ground

Now that you've stolen my eyes
Lead me to the sky where I can be seen
Just hold me, hold me up high
As long as you can bear it or until I redeem

Faster & faster I'm falling I don't think I'll make it
What is this coming at me so vast?
Wait just a minute I think that I'm starting to get it
I can't see myself, I am trapped in a cast

Now that you've broken my fall
Hold me close within your filthy embrace
Soak me up, soak me in deep
Then burn me till I vanish without a trace

I don't think I'm coming out today
I think I'll just stay inside
I wouldn't want to ruin your day
Just know that I'll be back for you

Higher & higher, faster & faster
I'm floating up I'm falling down for you
It's just what I do

Can you see me?
Are you watching close?
Do you see the same scene above as do I?
It's now or never

Can you hear me?
Are you listening?
If you could hear the sound of your voice in the night
Sweet surrender

Planted are the seeds of wisdom. A home within your soul.

If I leave you where you stand &
watch your seasons change
Could this be all I have?
If I leave this place
never to return
Would you remember me?

Can you feel me?
I'm all around you
Just close your eyes and fade away
There you'll find me

Tucked away inside your pocket. Memories that glow.

Say goodbye to today &
hello to tomorrow
Now is the time for change
I see you're growing old
but that don't mean a thing
You have got all we need
