As Autumn Falls

The raging fire within, now doused by raging old
Chances of survival slim, lest we don’t do what we’re told
Once again in school
For night is getting cool
You take me for a fool
But I know the leaves are getting old

Asphyxiation by paper
The most common death, by far
This pain will not soon taper, not until the print is aged and charred
These six hours never end
For hours wasted are hours unspent
Hours of living with the living, living with with friends
Well, living, until come the stars

For not even love can stop the stars, no matter love’s truth, love’s strength, love’s might
Because the stars are just too far to grasp
So why even try to put up a fight?
So the stars will always move
For they’ve got something to prove:
That nothing forever stands true
No matter how far it’s line of sight

Because no matter what you see
You must do what you’re told
For without the proper education
You won’t have hands strong enough to anything, hold
But for now, this is what I want to remember
I just wish this moment would last forever
Flame in the trees, living, before December
Because I can already feel it getting cold

And don’t even think about this second
Because these years are already mine
Now please just let me cling to this moment
Because this month is truly divine
But for now I’m afraid I am merely mortal
As through these ticks and hands I hurtle
This boy king does not yet care to be heard of
Life is moving too fast, I just want

To slow down time

— The End —
