Sunshine through the trees
Meadows full of sweet flowers
Blooming at my feet
The smell of honeysuckles
Drifting from the sweet forest
Spring is in the pretty air!

*~Marian~
a temple tower proudly embossed over
the sun's last blush
stands a silent spectator
to the revelry

just like it stood welcoming
over kings
in
an
era
long
past

i stare into time
and time  stares back at me

the more you say you are a beast
the more I want to kiss you
the more you say you are not beautiful
the more I want to shower you in love
and prove you wrong
~~                                                                            it was
                                                                            Complacency
                                                                                   and never
                                                                                  Curiosity

                                                                                         that
                                                                                       killed

Pretty raindrops fall,
From the dull grey clouds and sky,
Raindrops kiss my cheeks.

Grey clouds in the sky,
Grey clouds which raindrops fall from,
Gloomy is the day.

**~Marian~
the sideways glance of an evening sun
streams through the curtains .
the crepuscular light  spreads
through my home.
the gloaming announces -
the harshness of the noon is past.
soon Diana shall reign supreme
bringing with her the restlessness
that graces my dreams
every time awakening to the same
half-formed scream that barely
struggles out of my throat
choking joy on its way out.
once more the same dew will
glisten in my eyes
as the lullaby of relief
cantillates me to repose

tomorrow i resurrect

On the corner of Nansemond's Parkway and Bennett's Pasture
a heartbreaking scene can be found
almost appearing to be a mass grave
for such a small, innocent intersection
how many lives has it claimed
stones, flowers and crosses rest serenely under the trees
masking the horror that must have occurred on many an occasion
I wonder
how many more will you claim, little crossroad
could I be next
as I pass each day
